Atlanta, Georgia ?Georgia China Alliance had
its fall networking reception at Zoo Atlanta sponsored by founding
members Deloitte and Zoo Atlanta.
Chairman Sam Zamarripa introduced three special guests from Sichuan,
China:
- Liu, Xin - Deputy Director General of Sichuan Department of
Commerce
- Liu, Tie - Director of Division of Economic Development, Legislative
Affairs Office of Sichuan Provincial Government
- Xiao, Jun - Director of Intellectual Property Office of Sichuan
Province
The three guests are part of the training program
conducted by the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University
of Georgia. They will take classes at UGA until December and then
start three-month internships at government offices in Atlanta.
Chairman Sam Zamarripa announced a newly developed
virtual networking application that GCA will launch within a few
weeks for its members. This application will allow GCA members to
communicate online. It will serve an important role in GCA抯 virtual
platform development.
John Ray, president of Heritage Capital Advisors,
spoke about his popular online blog, TidBits. Beginning this week,
www.georgiachina.com will feature a China-related blog on its home
page, beginning with TidBits.
Rongrong Liu, Executive Director of GCA, gave
a brief on the trip GCA recently led to China. A special topic forum
will be held with delegation members regarding their unique experience
in China from both a business and cultural perspective.
