Georgia China Alliance, Georgia Power and Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice LLP hosted a reception on November 15, 2010 to welcome a delegation led by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.The delegation consisted of about 40 business executives from a broad range of industries, including textile, agriculture, chemistry, banking, investment, trading, and others, and Chinese government officials from MOFCOM and other government agencies. About 100 local business executives attended the reception held at the elegant offices of Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice LLP located in Atlantic Station.
John D’Andrea, Director of Economic Development at Georgia Power, Clint Richardson, Managing Member of the Atlanta Office of Womble Carlyle, and Guanming Fang, Chairman of Georgia China Alliance welcome the delegation and shared with the delegation the multitude of benefits of doing business in Georgia. Emily Fu, representing the Georgia Department of Economic Development, told the gathering crowd that the delegation signed a memorandum of understanding with the State to increase business activities between Georgia and China. Ms. ZHANG Yinxin, Deputey Director General of the Investment Promotion Agency of MOFCOM gave a warm and humorous speech, urging business leaders in both countries to strengthen the ties between the two countries by increasing business exchanges.
The beautiful skylight of Atlanta’s night sky thoroughly impressed the Chinese guests. Local guests not only sought out Chinese delegates to exchange business cards with, but also made many new connections with other local business executives.
