To commemorate this historic founding, the first Chinese Community Day will be held at the State Capitol tomorrow, Thursday, March 10th. To help celebrate and support Georgia ‘s newest caucus, Mr. Yeshun Hu, the Consul General of China for the South East Region, will attend the event. Leading Georgia corporations and Chinese business leaders in metro Atlanta will also be in attendance.

State Senator Sam Zamarripa, co-founder of Georgia China Alliance, will host the event:

Where: Press conference: 9:15 a.m. in the Rotunda of the State Capitol

Celebration of event: 8:00 a.m. ?9:30 a.m. in Room 450 of the State Capitol

The establishment of a China Caucus is a result of two new dynamics facing Georgians today: (1) a powerful new voter group is emerging among our state’s local Chinese American population, and (2) China is growing to become a major part of the global economy. The event is significant for Georgia as it recognizes the need to represent a new demographic in the State, particularly in metro Atlanta , and looks to maximize the new opportunities that come from it.

Senator Zamarripa is hosting this event to raise the profile of the local Chinese Community and to create an opportunity for Chinese Americans to directly communicate with their legislators.

ver the last several years, Georgia has become a much more diverse population, made up of people from all over the world,?said Senator Zamarripa. he formation of the China Caucus signifies a historic effort on behalf of the State Legislature to incorporate this changing demographic into Georgia ‘s future. I look forward to celebrating this event with Mr. Yeshun Hu and others to mark the beginning of greater things for Georgia .?
