Nikki Yu

Nikki Yu joined the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) in November 2013. GDEcD is the state’s sales and marketing arm, the lead agency for attracting new business investment, encouraging the expansion of existing industry and small businesses, locating new markets for Georgia products, attracting tourists to Georgia, and promoting the state as a destination for arts, film, music and digital entertainment projects, as well as planning and mobilizing state resources for economic development.

As a project manager for GDEcD’s Global Commerce division, Nikki recruits companies to locate and invest in Georgia creating jobs and capital investments for the state. Prior to joining the international investment team, Nikki worked with information, communication, and technology exporters statewide as well as exporters in middle Georgia to expand Georgia products and services on a global scale.

Nikki has lived in Tianjin, China, and has private business experience in both the U.S. and China. She is an active board member of the Georgia China Alliance (GCA) and the National Association of Chinese-Americans (NACA); and formerly, a board member of the International Business Society (IBS) with the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG). Nikki is a Georgia native and a graduate of the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business.
