Known throughout the state for his deep expertise in the industrial sector, Matthew’s services focus on tenant representation for the industrial brokerage team of JLL Atlanta. He has an extensive background of industrial site selection from prior positions with the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and the Georgia Department of Economic Development. His expertise are particularly suited to supporting the manufacturing, distribution and supply chain industries.

He most recently served as Director of Supply Chain and Advanced Manufacturing for the Metro Atlanta Chamber and played a critical role in developing and maintaining the Chamber’s global marketing strategy to the manufacturing sector. He also was responsible for the growth and recruitment of new companies in the supply chain, advanced manufacturing and clean technology sectors. Throughout his career, Matthew has also maintained a specialty focus on inbound investment from China.

Before joining the Chamber in 2007, Patterson worked for The Georgia Department of Economic Development, where he was Senior Statewide Manager in Industrial Recruitment. In that role, he was responsible for marketing the state’s business climate to companies across the nation and globe. Before leaving, he successfully recruited over 50 domestic and international companies to Georgia, which resulted in $1 billion in new capital investment and the creation of more than 4,500 new jobs.

Education/Affiliations:

Matthew is a graduate of the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business, where he completed his Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics.

He is an active member of several industry organizations, is an executive board member of The Georgia China Alliance, and previously served on the board of directors for The Georgia Solar Energy Association. He is also the immediate past director of the Metro Atlanta Chamber’s Cleantech Leadership Council and Supply Chain Leadership Council.
