Ken Jin is the Director of Confucius Institute at Kennesaw State University. Ken has successfully built two major centers focusing on China. Ken is the founding director of Confucius Institute at KSU (CIKSU). Under his leadership, CIKSU became the fastest growing and most successful CI in the world, which was named Confucius Institute of the Year in 2012. Ken is a winner for the Outstanding Individual Performance Award in 2010 and 2011.
Ken also created an award winning international executive training programs, the Center for International Training. The center has completed 185 training programs for a total of 3,019 Chinese senior business executives, government officials and professionals, including top executives from 192 largest companies. These participants represent a wide variety of industries and government agencies. Because of the high quality of the programs, in 1999, Kennesaw State University was selected as one of the five preferred training bases by the Chinese central government, the only one in the southeast of the US. His program is the winner of 2006 Governor’s International Education Award.
Ken also serves an international business consultant to help US companies in doing business with China. With his extensive network in Chinese industries and government, Ken has offered his knowledge, insights, expertise, and contacts to his clients in business development, channels of distribution, investment projects, products sourcing, and translation. His clients include Wal-Mart, Mirant Corporation, Mead Packaging, Kodak Scientific Imaging System, Montgomery Kone, Frazee Inc., McDonald Construction, Kilpatrick Stockton LLP, Dynamic Laser, and Victory Investment.
Ken grew up in Beijing, China. He went to the University of Alabama and earned his undergraduate degree in Corporate Finance in December 1989. Ken graduated from Master of Business Administration at Kennesaw State University in 1992. He joined Kennesaw State University in 1993, and is a faculty member in the Department of Management at Coles College of Business.
