Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce is an independent, non-profit, member-funded organization consisting of 4,000
member companies that collectively employ more than 700,000 workers in the greater metro Atlanta region. The
organization primarily focuses on creating jobs and boosting the region's quality of life by finding solutions
in the areas of economic development, transportation, education and the environment. The organization also plays
a critical role in bringing the region's private sector leaders together in order to tackle economic issues such
as quality jobs, infrastructure improvements and quality of life. Metro Atlanta Chamber is the only organization
statewide that is exclusively devoted to providing business recruitment for the 28-county Atlanta metropolitan
statistical area. The Chamber is also responsible for marketing Atlanta as an international business location
and seeks to attract companies that create quality jobs for the area. Its Economic Development division is
particularly focused on attracting headquarters, expanding global commerce and attracting jobs. It aids in the
development of Atlanta by focusing its marketing strategy on the areas of logistics, high-tech and biomedical
sectors and on global trade. Brazil, Russia, India and China are major global markets currently being pursued
in this effort.
