A Dialogue with Chinese Executives about Their U.S. Strategies

Thirty-three years ago, President Jimmy Carter and Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping opened China to U.S. companies. Now the process has come full circle, with Chinese companies investing here. To recognize and facilitate this new trend, the Chinese executive dialogue will focus on the strategies, experiences and challenges of Chinese companies investing abroad. Taking place at The Carter Center on June 14, 2012, this day-long forum will feature high-level representatives of major Chinese and U.S. companies, as well as dignitaries and business experts.President and CEO of The Carter Center, Dr. John Hardman, will deliver the keynote speech on behalf of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter. In addition to discussing President Carter’s personal relationship with China, Dr. Hardman will speak about the importance of increasing Chinese investment abroad and the impact of this growth on the United States’ economic and policy goals.
